What is the contact status when a 3-position selector switch is set to the center (OFF) position?

In a standard "MAN-OFF-AUTO" configuration equipped with 2NO contact blocks, both NO contacts remain open (non-conductive) when the knob sits in the center OFF position. Turning the knob left (Manual) or right (Auto) depresses the respective internal cam to close that specific contact block.
